Prisons.

Sleeping in the royal room,
searching for the only bloom,
 I left for the city shine.

Waiting like a distant day,
talking to myself in distaste,
I led myself to decay.

All I ever needed was time,
all I ever wanted was my crime.

Say you remember,
the times you left for your climb.
Say you remember,
the simple words for a dime.

It comes crashing down,
like an endless dream;
where the folks go to sing and weep;
where all those thoughts,
all those cots,
came under a seam.

I tore down a chawl,
and searched to belong,
and found it was gone, far along;
You kept me locked,
in a place for your throngs,
and left me here, crooked and clogged.

All I ever needed was time,
all I ever wanted was my crime.

Say you remember,
the times you left for your climb.
Say you remember,
the simple words for a dime.

Say you remember, the simple words for a dime,
say you remember, the gory words to a chime,
as and along, we rhyme.
